The Old Fashioned

The house had pretty much everything we needed. I was surprised at what was available to us compared to other places we have rented. We would definitely recommend this home and will definitely be staying there again.

We spent an excellent week with our family and had a wonderful time. Plenty of water toys were available to explore and fish the lake. A short drive to Green Lake for a couple of days of pontoon boating. Overall a great place to relax and enjoy time with our kids and grandkids!

As a family of four, we could be together or apart as much as we wanted in this spacious home. We'll always remember breakfast on the screened-in gazebo, meals in the kitchen and dining area, and watching baseball games and playing pool together in the lower level. The cabin is within easy driving distance of several small towns, so there are plenty of choices for meals and activities nearby. Douglas responded quickly before and after we arrived, and there was never any doubt about anything related to the cabin. Overall, we had a great week at a very nice home.

Great time at the old fashioned!

The Old Fashioned is a beautiful place to stay for a peaceful vacation and time to connect with friends and family. The pool table was a huge hit! The fishing was pretty good too! We caught bass and northerns from the pier! The area is quiet and serene with breathtaking views!

The Old Fashioned is a very beautiful place on a quiet lake with plenty to do with Green Lake so close. The house was very accommodating for the 12 of us. The kids enjoyed the space downstairs while I enjoyed some peace on the top floor. Very well equipped with a wonderful welcome basket. I highly recommend this place!

The Old Fashion was perfect for our family with plenty of space, 'lots of bedrooms, a big dining room table, and lots of indoor and outdoor space for our grandkids to play. The garage was full of outdoor/water amenities. We had a bit of trouble during check-in because of a door code mistake (likely my mistake) and a low battery on the keypad. Douglas was quick to respond and got us all squared away and generously answered all our questions. The welcome package of goodies was a great touch!

Beautiful place to make many core memories with family. Provided everything needed for a great vacation. Loved the comfy beds and warm, fuzzy blankets. Thank you for the welcoming gift basket. Would highly recommend!

the house is very nice and spacious
nothing lacking to have a good time.

if you plan to use the kayaks and or paddle board, there is a steep incline
down to the water. grass is well kept and the trees are wonderful.
we brought our pontoon boat and really enjoyed the lake. it is no wake but that didn't slow us down at all.
water depth at the dock is shallow but we managed just fine.

We had the absolute best stay at The Old Fashioned. We had 6 adults and 4 young children (ranging from ages 3-7) and everyone was so happy. The bunk room is a kids dream and is so peaceful - all the adults wanted to fall asleep with them because it was so quiet and cozy (but also spacious!), ha! There were three beautiful bedrooms for the three adult couples to sleep very comfortably and have plenty of space. The downstairs provided plenty of entertainment with the pool table, along with the well equipped upstairs loft where games were stocked. The open concept and expansive outdoor space generated laughter and togetherness and memories that we are all so grateful for. We will be back!

We even left something behind and after messaging Douglas, we received a quick response back letting us know he was more than happy to help get it returned to us. Five star service all around!!!! Anyone who stays here is sure to have a lovely time.

This place was great for us with kids! We were 3 families and really enjoyed the space and the great backyard on the lake was awesome. Will definitely consider again for future vacations.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Old Fashioned. The views of the lake from inside the house were fabulous. The cabin is cozy, stylish, quiet and immaculate. We particularly loved the fireplace, large screen tv for movies, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, and the record player. The cabin had much more space than we had imagined. The bunkroom downstairs and the game room was a bonus.

Sitting outside on the deck was beautiful too. The yard is huge! The solo stove for an outdoor fire, Weber grill, and the dock for fishing were appreciated. We also enjoyed the restaurants and supper clubs in Green Lake. The close proximity to the golf courses made this weekend perfect.

Such a nice weekend getaway from Madison (just over an hour drive). We came in the early summer but think it would be as equally relaxing in the winter. We have stayed at a lot of Airbnbs and this is one of our favorites. We will most definitely be back (soon). It was really hard to leave this gem!

Perfect place for a girls weekend! There were 6 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone; so nice to have 3.5 bathrooms as well! Great spaces to hang out on both the main level and the lower level. Loved the main level fireplace, wagon wheel chandeliers & high quality speaker to play music! Communication & flexibility were truly appreciated. No regrets on choosing this home & host! Thank you so much!

We had a family reunion after Christmas and this home was the perfect spot. Tons to do for the teenagers, plenty of space for everyone, everything was perfect. We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor amenities like the kayaks and lake!

I wanted a cabin, lake views and a fireplace for Thanksgiving and the Old Fashioned delivered it all! Woke up to beautiful sunrises on the lake that we could watch from the bedrooms and the family room. House is well stocked with family fun board games. Kids loved the bunk beds in the basements. Can’t wait to return in the summer.

Douglas was great! We enjoyed the personalized touches of a welcoming experience, great recommendations, and a clean and very open, spacious home. Our family loved the town and all that there was to offer in the area, and we loved being able to come back to the house at night and be in such an open and inviting space to make memories. We got timely responses on any and all questions, and we enjoyed every second of our stay.
